# Zero-click search.

Definition

## What it _means._

A zero-click search is a query that ends with no visit to an external website. The searcher may have found an answer on the results page, changed the query, or stopped searching. A no-click outcome alone does not reveal whether the person was satisfied or whether an AI answer caused it.

Worked example

## In _practice._

A brand sees impressions rise while clicks stay flat. That pattern alone does not prove AI answers caused it: query mix, rankings and search features can also change. Check the relevant reports, then measure useful visits, enquiries and assisted pipeline alongside visibility.
