# App Marketing Agencies in Canada: Scope and Pricing

By [**Ian McGavin**](https://www.strataigize.com/about/team/ian/), Founder & CMO · Published July 25, 2025 · Updated October 2, 2026 · 7 min read

App Guardians, App Promo, inBeat, Social Media 55 and Strataigize offer different routes to app growth in Canada. Choose around the work your team needs: acquisition, store conversion, creative, monetization or a combined program. Our mobile growth retainer starts at US$10,000 per month, month to month after the first 3 months, with ad spend separate. App Guardians publishes a combined launch budget, which is not directly comparable with a monthly agency retainer. This comparison distinguishes published capabilities from scope you still need to confirm.

The best app marketing agency for your business depends on where growth is getting stuck. A subscription app with weak trial-to-paid conversion needs a different engagement from an app with strong retention and an exhausted supply of ad creative. Start with that diagnosis, then compare agencies against the work they can actually take on.

We reviewed the primary pages linked below on September 20, 2026, UTC, and re-checked all five on September 21. Strataigize sells these services and is included in the comparison. Our mobile growth retainer starts at US$10,000 a month, month to month after the first 3 months. Ad spend is separate and billed by the platforms directly, so you keep your own ad accounts. App Guardians publishes a combined agency-and-media launch budget, discussed below and re-checked on October 2. We did not establish comparable monthly agency fees for the other providers from the pages reviewed. The agencies appear alphabetically, without a performance ranking. This is a review of published scope and pricing evidence, not a test of delivery or an exhaustive Canadian directory. A service missing from a page is a question to confirm, not proof that the agency cannot do it.

## Five agencies to consider for Canadian app growth

| Agency | Services described on its own site | Scope question for your shortlist |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [App Guardians](https://appguardians.com/) | Paid acquisition, creative, app store optimization, retention and subscription revenue optimization | Which product and lifecycle changes will the agency implement, and which stay with your team? |
| [App Promo](https://app-promo.com/) | App strategy, marketing, monetization and app store optimization | Does the proposal include ongoing execution, or mainly strategy and launch work? |
| [inBeat](https://inbeat.agency/) | Creator campaigns, paid media, user acquisition and conversion optimization | How will creative testing, store work and post-install analysis be staffed? |
| [Social Media 55](https://socialmedia55.com/) | App marketing within a broader agency also listing development, conversion optimization and social media services | Which specialists and deliverables are assigned specifically to the app? |
| [Strataigize](https://www.strataigize.com/services/mobile-app-marketing/) | App store optimization, paid acquisition, creative testing, paywall and attribution work | Which bottleneck should the first phase address, and what implementation can your product team support? |

App store optimization, or ASO, improves how an app is found and presented in the stores. User acquisition covers bringing people into the app. Neither term alone tells you whether a proposal includes onboarding changes, subscription experiments or retention work. Ask for those responsibilities explicitly.

### App Guardians: acquisition and subscription work

App Guardians lists retention and subscription revenue optimization alongside acquisition and ASO. That makes it worth considering when your mandate spans new users and existing subscribers. Confirm the implementation commitment in your proposal; a broad service catalogue is not the scope of every contract.

### App Promo: strategy, launch and monetization

App Promo’s [monetization service](https://app-promo.com/services/monetization/) includes revenue models, projections and pricing comparisons. Our earlier description was too narrow in calling it light on monetization. Ask which recommendations the team will execute and how the engagement continues after launch.

### inBeat: creative-led growth with a wider app scope

inBeat’s [mobile marketing page](https://inbeat.agency/mobile-marketing-agency) explicitly includes ASO, retargeting and retention analysis. We have corrected our earlier claim that ASO was absent. Evaluate the complete proposal rather than assuming it only supplies creative, and confirm who implements product changes.

### Social Media 55: app work alongside broader marketing

Social Media 55 offers [mobile app marketing](https://socialmedia55.com/services/mobile-app-marketing/) within its broader service mix. Consider it when app, web and social work need coordination. Establish who owns app-specific measurement and store work; the agency label alone does not identify the people or capacity assigned to your account.

### Strataigize: a combined program or a bounded sprint

Our [mobile app marketing service](https://www.strataigize.com/services/mobile-app-marketing/) brings acquisition, ASO, creative, paywall and attribution work into one program. The [published pricing](https://www.strataigize.com/pricing/) lists the growth retainer from **US$10,000 per month**, typically **US$10,000 to US$18,000**. Retainers become month to month after the first three months. Advertising spend is separate; we manage programs starting at US$25,000 in monthly media. A 30-day ASO or creative-testing sprint is US$9,000 fixed.

Those are our offers, not a Canadian market average. For local collaboration, the [Vancouver app marketing page](https://www.strataigize.com/app-marketing-agency-vancouver/) explains the in-person option. Our [Podz case study](https://www.strataigize.com/case-studies/podz-52873-installs-in-a-month-at-70-cents/) documents an acquisition engagement and its reported install results. Those results do not establish a payback period or predict your app’s performance.

## What the published prices tell you

App Guardians’ [FAQ](https://appguardians.com/faq/) gives a **$50,000 to $100,000 launch budget combining agency and media fees**, without stating a currency or a monthly agency fee. This is not directly comparable with our USD retainer range.

We did not establish comparable numeric agency fees from the App Promo, inBeat and Social Media 55 pages reviewed here. That finding is limited to these sources. Obtain a proposal before concluding what any of them charges.

Make the proposals comparable before deciding which is less expensive:

- Separate agency fees, advertising spend, creative production and software costs, with the currency stated for each.
- Name the stores, markets, languages and channels included, plus the assets the team will produce.
- Identify who implements store, onboarding and paywall changes. Advice and engineering capacity are different purchases.
- Specify account ownership, access, reporting, the initial term and the handover process.

If subscription infrastructure is part of the work, our [RevenueCat alternatives comparison](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/revenuecat-alternatives/) can help frame that separate choice. Market-intelligence tooling is another line item; the [Sensor Tower review](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/review-sensor-tower-features-pricing-use-cases/) discusses its scope and pricing evidence.

## Judge the work against your app’s economics

Ask each candidate to explain what happens after an install. For a subscription app, the useful sequence may be activation, trial, paid subscription and renewal. For a game, it may involve retention and advertising or purchase revenue. A cheaper install can still be a poor acquisition if those users do not return or monetize.

Compare results for the same country, platform, acquisition period and attribution window. Ask whether revenue is gross or net of store fees, refunds and other variable costs. A return-on-ad-spend figure usually does not tell you the total profit after agency and production costs. If the evidence is immature, the proposal should say what can be judged now and what requires a later cohort read.

A focused specialist can be the right choice when your internal team already owns the other work. A combined engagement is more useful when coordination and implementation gaps are slowing progress. In either case, name the person accountable for the shared outcome and give them the information and authority needed to act.

## Canadian language and measurement requirements

For a Quebec audience, include French store copy, screenshots, creative and landing pages in the scope. Budget for review by someone who understands the audience and product, and measure the localized journey separately. Translating an ad while leaving the next screen in English makes the experience incomplete.

The [Commission d’accès à l’information’s Law 25 guidance](https://www.cai.gouv.qc.ca/protection-renseignements-personnels/sujets-et-domaines-dinteret/principaux-changements-loi-25) covers consent, transparency, privacy settings and assessments. Have your privacy lead confirm the requirements for the app’s data flows. The marketing plan should explain measurement within that approved setup.

For iOS, ask which attribution methods the plan uses and what their limits mean for reporting. Apple’s [AdAttributionKit documentation](https://developer.apple.com/documentation/adattributionkit) is a primary reference. For web-to-app journeys, [review mobile usability](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/check-mobile-friendliness-website/) and use our [mobile friendliness checker](https://www.strataigize.com/tools/mobile-friendly-test/) on the landing pages involved.

## Build the shortlist around the first problem to solve

Bring the same brief to each agency: product, markets, business model, available budget, current bottleneck and internal implementation capacity. Ask for the first phase’s deliverables and the evidence that would justify continuing. This makes differences in proposals easier to see than a list of client logos or an unexplained growth percentage.

Our broader [North American agency comparison](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/the-best-mobile-app-marketing-agencies-in-north-america-for-2026/) covers additional options. If your shortlist includes Phiture or Yodel Mobile, use the [alternatives comparison](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/phiture-and-yodel-mobile-alternatives/) for that decision.

We removed Plastic Mobile from the current shortlist because historical acquisition evidence does not verify its present team or offering. Osellus also remains excluded pending a current primary source. Neither omission is a claim that a business has closed.

For Strataigize, the useful starting point is the problem your current team cannot resolve: acquiring suitable users, converting store traffic, improving the paid journey or trusting the measurement. That problem should determine the scope before anyone recommends a recurring program.

## Use the same brief for every proposal

Download our [app marketing agency RFP and evidence scorecard](https://www.strataigize.com/resources/app-marketing-agency-rfp/). It includes a request for proposal (RFP), seven explicit comparison criteria and a downloadable spreadsheet. The framework is ours, and no agency is pre-scored. Use it to compare Strataigize with the other providers on your shortlist.
