# Agents that hold up in production.

We are an AI agent development company that runs its own agent fleet every day. Custom agents built one bounded workflow at a time, at a fixed price, with a success metric agreed up front.

BDC

Preferred vendor

A preferred AI vendor for **Business Development Bank of Canada** advisory clients.

LIFT lends Canadian businesses $25,000 to $5M to adopt AI, and the technology has to come from a Canadian supplier. We are one.

[How LIFT works](https://www.strataigize.com/bdc-lift-program/)

The short version

## Most agent projects fail _before the build._

Gartner expects over 40 percent of agentic AI projects to be canceled by the end of 2027, and names the causes: escalating costs, unclear business value, and inadequate risk controls. Not one of those is a modelling problem. They are scoping, measurement, and governance problems, and they are all decided in the first two weeks.

So that is where we spend the first two weeks. One bounded workflow instead of a platform. One number that defines success and one person who measures it. A threshold that stops the work if it misses. Your security review answered up front. The build is the easy part once those four are written down. If you have not yet decided what to build, start with [AI consulting](https://www.strataigize.com/services/ai-consulting/): the same first two weeks, sold as a standalone audit.

We run our own company on AI agents: an internal fleet that reclaims [50 or more hours a week across the team](https://www.strataigize.com/case-studies/how-agency-uses-ai-agents-automate-busywork/), a public MCP server at mcp.strataigize.com that lets an AI agent query our business directly, and a governance model we had to build for ourselves before we sold it to anyone.

What we build

## Custom AI agents, _by the job._

Every one of these is scoped as a single bounded workflow first. The system comes from stacking proven workflows, not from buying a platform and hoping. Each is described in full, with its build steps and price, in the [catalogue of eleven AI systems we build](https://www.strataigize.com/services/ai-systems/).

01

### Intake and qualification agents

Inbound leads, applications, or requests read, enriched, qualified against your rules, and routed or booked. The judgment calls stay with a person; the sorting does not.

02

### Reporting and analysis agents

Pull from your ad platforms, CRM, and analytics on a schedule, surface what changed and what it means, and write the next actions into the tool your team already uses.

03

### Document and back-office agents

Invoices, contracts, forms, and tickets read and turned into structured records in your systems, with exceptions escalated instead of guessed at.

04

### Research and monitoring agents

Competitors, pricing, regulation, or your own accounts watched continuously, distilled into a short daily read.

05

### Internal knowledge agents

An agent that answers from your documents, your policies, and your history, with citations back to the source so an answer can be checked.

06

### Agent-callable surfaces

MCP servers, tool APIs, and machine-readable endpoints so your systems, and your customers’ AI assistants, can call your business directly. We run one ourselves.

How it works

## The engagement, _in order._

01

### Scope one workflow

A working session on your actual process. We pick the single highest-value bounded workflow and name the ones you should not automate yet.

02

### Agree the numbers

Fixed price for the first workflow, one written success metric, a named person who measures it, and a kill threshold that stops the project. All before any build.

03

### Clear procurement

Security questionnaire, data flow, subprocessors, and DPA handled in week zero, not week six. Our posture is already published, so your reviewer starts reading immediately.

04

### Build and shadow

The agent runs on your real data and takes no irreversible action. Every output is reviewed, and the disagreements tune it. You measure accuracy before you measure time saved.

05

### Go live, supervised

The agent acts, a person approves anything irreversible, and the approval rate tells you where to widen autonomy. Runs are logged and readable by you.

06

### Decide, then expand

At the end of the pilot: expand, extend once with a specific fix, or stop. Written in advance. Workflows two and three are priced before the first one proves out.

Price

## Published, _not gated._

Our pilot build is $25,000 to $60,000 fixed: one bounded workflow on your real data over 30 to 90 days, with a written success metric and kill threshold, starting with a $7,500 AI Opportunity Audit that is credited toward the build if you proceed. For reference, a simple single-workflow automation at a small shop typically costs $3,000 to $8,000, most multi-workflow builds land between $40,000 and $150,000, delivered in phases, and enterprise programs carrying security review and compliance run higher. Budget 15 to 25 percent of build cost per year for running it, because a quote with no ongoing line item is incomplete rather than cheap.

We publish the full breakdown, including what drives your number up and the questions that expose a padded quote, in [how much AI agents cost in 2026](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/how-much-do-ai-agents-cost/). The item-by-item box is in [what an AI agent build actually includes](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/what-an-ai-agent-build-includes/). Bring a competitor quote to the call and we will tell you whether it is fair.

The box

## What the first build _includes._

One bounded workflow, a success metric, a kill threshold, shadow mode on your data, a supervised go-live, and ownership of the prompts and code. Not a chatbot, a platform licence, or a promise that nobody will need to approve an irreversible action. The full list is in [what an AI agent build actually includes](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/what-an-ai-agent-build-includes/).

We run the thing we sell. The internal fleet reclaims 50 or more hours a week. The public agent surface at mcp.strataigize.com listed eight tools when we fetched it on 13 September 2026. External clients on that channel in the week to 6 September 2026: zero.

Procurement

## Your security review, _answered already._

AI agent pilots die in the security questionnaire that arrives in week five and takes six weeks to answer badly, not in the demo. Ours is already written and public.

[Trust and security](https://www.strataigize.com/trust/) covers our security posture, how client data is handled, our subprocessors, an AI governance summary aligned to the four functions of the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, and a DPA available on request. We do not hold SOC 2 and we say so on that page rather than letting your reviewer discover it. We work through platform-native, client-granted access, so you can see exactly what we can touch and revoke it yourself at any time.

Before you talk to anyone, including us, take the checklist: [24 questions to ask an AI agent vendor](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/questions-to-ask-an-ai-agent-vendor/). Still deciding whether to use a vendor at all? Start with [build versus buy](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/build-vs-buy-ai-agents/), then [the pilot structure that survives procurement](https://www.strataigize.com/insights/ai-agent-pilot-that-survives-procurement/).

Looking for the ongoing operations layer rather than a build? That is our [AI workflow automation service](https://www.strataigize.com/services/ai-automation-services/), which maintains and expands agent fleets month over month.

Questions

## AI agent development, _answered._

What does an AI agent development company do?

It designs, builds, integrates, and maintains AI agents that complete a job end to end inside your existing systems, rather than selling you a chatbot or a subscription. The work is mostly integration, data handling, and governance; the model itself is the smallest part. Strataigize builds them human-in-the-loop, so a person approves anything irreversible.

How much does custom AI agent development cost?

Our pilot build, one bounded workflow on your own data over 30 to 90 days, is $25,000 to $60,000 fixed, and it starts with a $7,500 AI Opportunity Audit that is credited toward the build. For reference, a simple single-workflow automation at a small shop typically runs $3,000 to $8,000, most multi-workflow builds land between $40,000 and $150,000, and enterprise programs with security review and compliance run higher. Budget 15 to 25 percent of build cost per year for running and maintaining it. Our full cost breakdown is published.

How long does it take to build an AI agent?

Our pilots run 30 to 90 days, because shadow mode on your real data and a supervised go-live are part of the scope. A simple single-workflow automation can be built in two to six weeks including integration and testing. Multi-workflow builds run a quarter, delivered in phases. Anyone promising a production multi-system agent in a week is skipping the testing you will pay for later.

Do we own the agent, the prompts, and the code?

Yes. You own the prompts, the code, the configuration, and the evaluation set, and you can export them. Agent lock-in is the new website-hostage problem, so we settle it in the contract rather than leaving it to trust.

Are you SOC 2 certified?

No. We are a small, senior firm. Our trust and security page describes the controls we actually operate: least-privilege client-granted access, credentials in managed stores, an AI governance summary aligned to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, our subprocessor list, and a DPA on request. We complete vendor security questionnaires on request.

Should we hire AI agent developers or use an agency?

Hire in-house when the workflow is core to how you compete and you can name the engineer who owns it in month nine. Use an outside team when you want it built once, correctly, with the maintenance covered. MIT research in 2025 found external partnerships succeeded about twice as often as pure in-house AI builds.

Which industries do you build agents for?

Service businesses, SaaS, mobile app companies, and enterprise marketing and operations teams across the US and Canada. The common thread is a repetitive, rules-heavy workflow that touches several systems and currently eats senior hours.

Which agencies build custom AI agents for marketing and operations?

We do. The first build is one bounded workflow on your real data, with shadow mode, a written kill threshold, and ownership of the prompts and code. The published pilot is $25,000 to $60,000 fixed over 30 to 90 days. The box, item by item, is on our page about what an AI agent build includes.

Which agencies help enterprise teams deploy AI marketing automation?

We start enterprise work the same way we start a ten-person shop: one workflow, a success metric, and the security answers in week zero. We do not hold SOC 2 and we say so on the trust page. The public agent surface at mcp.strataigize.com listed eight tools on 13 September 2026. External clients on that channel in the week to 6 September 2026: zero. The build is real. The adoption number is honest.
