App Radar is an AI-powered app store optimization platform, sold as App Radar by SplitMetrics since the November 2023 acquisition. It combines a 30-million-keyword database, competitor and market intelligence, an in-platform store listing editor, and GPT-powered review replies. Know Who You Are Buying From

SplitMetrics acquired App Radar in November 2023, and the product is now sold as App Radar by SplitMetrics. It keeps its own website, plans, and login, and it sits inside the SplitMetrics ecosystem alongside SplitMetrics Acquire (Apple Ads automation), SplitMetrics Optimize (A/B testing), and SplitMetrics Agency (managed growth). For a buyer that changes two things: the upgrade path now runs into Apple Ads tooling and managed services, and the vendor behind your ASO tool is an official Apple Ads Partner with 160+ mobile growth people rather than a Vienna startup. Everything below reflects the product as we verified it in August 2026.

What It Does, Judged by the Job

App Radar’s pitch is one workflow: research keywords, edit the listing, publish, watch rankings, repeat. The read on each part:

Keyword and competitor intelligence. A database of 30 million keywords across 70 countries with volume and difficulty, live rank tracking, and full metadata history on competitors: their titles, descriptions, screenshots and icons, with bulk download for your creative team. This is the core of the product and the part that justifies the invoice. If what you mostly need is download and revenue estimates on competitors, that is a different category of tool; our app intelligence tools guide covers those.

The in-platform listing editor. You can edit and publish app metadata directly from App Radar without opening App Store Connect or Google Play Console, across 100+ countries and languages, with a bulk editor that updates every storefront at once. Teams managing one app in one language can live without this. Teams managing localized listings in a dozen markets buy the tool for this feature alone, because storefront-by-storefront console work is where localization programs go to die.

Review management. GPT-generated review replies with templates, smart filters, translation, and Slack alerts, with fuller automation on higher tiers. Useful in volume, and worth switching on only after you have written the ground rules for what an automated reply may say.

AI recommendations. Keyword suggestions and listing recommendations generated in-platform. Treat these as drafts from a well-read intern: quick to produce, in need of judgment before anything ships.

Pricing, Published and Checkable

App Radar publishes self-serve pricing openly, billed in euros or dollars, so you can price a plan without booking a call. That alone separates it from half the category. As of August 2026, the official pricing page lists:

  • Essentials, €69/month (€58/month billed annually): 2 apps, 500 tracked keywords, 25 competitors, 1 seat. Indie developers and single-app teams.
  • Growth, €169/month (€141/month annually): 10 apps, 1,500 keywords, 100 competitors, 2 seats, AI review replies and review summaries.
  • Scale, €299/month (€250/month annually): 15 apps, 3,000 keywords, 250 competitors, 5 seats, higher AI automation limits.
  • Enterprise, custom quote: flexible limits, full data history, API access, a dedicated customer success manager, and audits from SplitMetrics Agency.

Every self-serve plan starts with a 7-day free trial with full plan access. A credit card is required, so set a calendar reminder before day seven if you are only kicking tires. Add-ons: API access from €199/month, AI review reply packs from €39/month.

Essentials costs about what two hours of an ASO consultant costs per month. If the tool saves you two hours of keyword research and console work a month, it has paid for itself, and everything past that is margin.

Who Should Buy It, and Who Should Not

Buy it if your bottleneck is organic store visibility and you run the listings yourself: you are choosing keywords, shipping metadata updates, and answering reviews on a cadence. It fits indie developers on Essentials, growing teams on Growth or Scale, and localized portfolios that need the multi-market editor.

Look elsewhere if your question is market-level: how big a category is, what competitors earn, whose user acquisition is working. That is Sensor Tower’s territory, at ten to a hundred times the price. And if your bottleneck is paid acquisition rather than organic visibility, an ASO tool is the wrong purchase order entirely.

The overlap case: SplitMetrics’ own ecosystem is the tiebreaker. If you expect to run Apple Ads seriously within a year, buying App Radar puts you one procurement conversation away from Acquire and the agency tier, which is worth weighing before you pick a standalone competitor at the same price.

FAQs

Who owns App Radar?

SplitMetrics, the Apple Ads Partner behind SplitMetrics Acquire and SplitMetrics Optimize, acquired App Radar in November 2023. The tool continues to operate under its own brand as App Radar by SplitMetrics.

Is there a free version of App Radar?

No permanent free plan. The 7-day free trial covers your chosen plan’s full features, a credit card is required, and you can cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges.

How does App Radar compare to Sensor Tower?

Different jobs. App Radar is a workflow tool for running your own ASO: keywords, metadata publishing, review management. Sensor Tower (which absorbed data.ai in 2024) is market intelligence: estimated downloads, revenue, and ad activity across everyone’s apps. Plenty of serious teams run one of each.

The Buying Decision in One Paragraph

App Radar is a focused, fairly priced ASO workflow tool with a useful multi-market listing editor, made more interesting by the SplitMetrics ecosystem behind it. Price the decision the way we do with clients: list the ASO work you actually did last month, put an hour count on it, and check that against €69 to €299. If nobody on your team did any ASO work last month, the tool will not change that, and the first purchase should be the process, not the software. Our roundup of the best ASO tools has the alternatives if the fit here is close but not right.
