Why this matters

The new front page is an AI answer.

When a buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity what to buy or who to hire, the engine names a few brands and everyone else is invisible. That answer is settled before your site ever gets the visit. This checker scores the six things that make an engine confident enough to name you. If the score comes back low, the fixes are real work on real pages, and that work is our GEO service.

Questions

GEO checker, explained.

What is GEO?
GEO is Generative Engine Optimization: getting your brand cited inside AI answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and Claude. As buyers ask an engine instead of scrolling ten blue links, being the brand the engine names is the new front page.
Do I have to give an email to see my score?
No. Your score, all six area scores, the fixes, the prompt pack, and the plan you can run yourself all render on screen with no email address and no sign-up. There is an option at the end to have the printable report emailed to you, and that is the only thing we ask an email for.
How does the checker work?
You rate your brand on 12 short statements across the six things that decide whether an engine cites you: entity and schema, answer-first content, comparison content, third-party citations, freshness and depth, and your current presence in AI answers. Each area is two statements worth 5 points each, so it scores out of 10 and is shown out of 100. Your overall score is the plain average of the six. The result quotes the two ratings in the lowest area, and in a remaining gap when the band is already Visible. When those two are 3 or more points apart, we name the split instead of averaging it into a calm-looking 50.
Does this check what AI says about me right now?
No, and it is important that it does not pretend to. Nothing here queries an engine. It scores how ready you are to be cited and where your gaps are. That is why the result hands you five specific prompts to run yourself, in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode, so you can see the live answer with your own eyes and keep the screenshots as a baseline. A tracked read of which prompts cite you and which cite competitors instead is something we run for you.
What do the tiers mean?
AI-Invisible means at least one area is still 0 to 40, so little on your site tells an engine why it should name you. Emerging means no area is that weak, but you are not yet the default answer. AI-Visible means every area is 71 or above, not a high average that hides one weak score. A named area still under 85 is a remaining gap, not an all-clear. Those bands are ours for reading the result. They are not an industry benchmark, and we do not rank you against other companies because we have no honest data to do that with.
Why ask for brand and category?
Both are optional and neither changes the score, which comes only from the 12 ratings. They are used to write the five prompts in your result in your own words, so the self-check is worth running rather than generic.
How accurate is a self-assessment?
It is exactly as honest as the answers. The most useful way to run it is twice: once on your own, then again with whoever on your team is most likely to disagree with you. Then run the prompt pack, because the engines get the final say and they frequently disagree with both of you.
