SplitMetrics vs Storemaven: What Buyers Can Verify in 2026

SplitMetrics Optimize has a current public offer for app-store creative testing, with pricing by quote. Zynga acquired Storemaven in September 2022, but the acquisition announcement and remaining review profiles do not establish a current standalone Storemaven offer. For a purchase today, compare SplitMetrics with Apple's Product Page Optimization and Google Play's store listing experiments, using the testing job and traffic source to choose.

Start with the product you can verify today

Zynga completed its acquisition of Storemaven on September 12, 2022. Its announcement describes combining Storemaven’s mobile growth and app store optimization technology with Zynga’s portfolio and Chartboost. It does not publish a current standalone subscription offer for outside customers.

A G2 profile for mavens, formerly Storemaven, remains accessible. That is evidence of a historical product and company profile, not proof that a buyer can purchase the same service today. No current public Storemaven offer could be verified in this review. An inaccessible LinkedIn page also cannot establish whether a business or product has closed.

SplitMetrics Optimize has a current product and pricing page, checked September 5, 2026. That makes it a verifiable option for a new testing brief. It does not make it the automatic winner for every app: the store-native tools may cover the experiment you need without another software subscription.

We pulled both vendor pages again on September 14, 2026, and the Storemaven side now needs a warning rather than a footnote. The domain still resolves, and its logo and navigation still read “Storemaven | App Store A/B Testing for iOS & Google Play”, but the page served under that branding is a cryptocurrency casino guide headed “Best Crypto Casinos 2025”. None of the original app store testing content is there. Treat a search result or an old bookmark pointing at that domain as repurposed, cite the Zynga announcement instead, and do not enter contact or payment details on it.

The SplitMetrics side held up on the same date. Its Optimize page serves a live product headed “A/B testing for your next app release”, and the primary call to action is “Book a demo” with no rate card on the page, so budget for a quoted figure rather than a published tier.

Choose by the test, not the old comparison table

SplitMetrics tests use emulated store experiences. Native tests use traffic inside the relevant store. Those answer related but different questions: people sent to a test page may behave differently from people who find an app organically. Compare the audience, traffic cost and outcome measured before treating a winning creative as a universal result.

Pricing and the full cost of an experiment

SplitMetrics Optimize’s pricing page asks buyers to book a demo for a tailored plan. It does not substantiate the $13,600 to $33,000 annual tiers previously used in this article as current budget guidance. Those historical figures have been removed.

For a comparable quote, specify the apps and platforms, expected number of tests, countries and languages, who supplies the creatives, who buys the test traffic, and whether setup and analysis are managed services. Ask which costs sit outside the software fee. A low subscription price can be a poor comparison if another proposal includes creative production or traffic.

We have no verified current public price for a standalone Storemaven product. A software directory’s historical price or a review score cannot fill that gap.

The native alternatives

Apple’s Product Page Optimization lets developers test alternative icons, screenshots and app previews through App Store Connect. It is the first option to inspect when the question concerns an existing iOS product page.

Google Play’s store listing experiments provide native testing for Android listings. Check the supported listing and asset types before copying an iOS test plan into Play Console.

Neither native feature requires a separate ASO-tool subscription. That does not make the whole experiment free: creative work, developer-program requirements and the traffic needed for a useful result still matter. An out-of-store platform may be worth buying when pre-launch validation, a controlled traffic source or a managed testing workflow is the actual requirement.

What to ask before choosing

  • What decision will this test change, and what result would change your mind?
  • Are you measuring an install, a click to the store, or another proxy?
  • Where does the traffic come from, and does it resemble the audience you plan to acquire?
  • How will the experiment account for uncertainty and avoid stopping on an early fluctuation?
  • Who implements the winning asset, and how will you check its performance after release?

Those answers are more useful than a historical rating contest. Storemaven’s old reviews describe the experience reviewers had at that time; they do not explain Zynga’s acquisition motive or establish a current purchase option.

FAQ

Is Storemaven still available in 2026?

No current standalone public offer could be verified. Zynga’s acquisition is confirmed, but that announcement alone does not prove a particular shutdown date or present-day contract availability. Ask for current product documentation and contract terms before treating an old listing as buyable.

What is the best Storemaven alternative?

For pre-launch and out-of-store creative tests, evaluate SplitMetrics Optimize. For tests on live store traffic, start with Apple’s Product Page Optimization and Google Play’s store listing experiments. The best fit depends on the experiment and its traffic source.

How much does SplitMetrics Optimize cost?

The current official pricing page requires a quote. Compare the complete test cost, including software, traffic, creative production and analysis, rather than budgeting from an old published tier.

If the work is designing and running the tests, the app store optimization service covers that scope. The free ASO audit can help identify listing issues before you decide which ones need an experiment.
