What it is

The short version.

TikTok is a creative auction before it is a targeting auction. The account structure matters far less than how many honest variants you can put into the feed each week and how quickly you can tell which one actually moved a conversion. We run TikTok as a testing loop: a weekly batch of hooks, a fixed read window, and a rule for what gets scaled and what gets retired.

The part most accounts get wrong is measurement. TikTok's in-platform numbers are attribution-lagged and browser tracking loses a large share of events before they arrive. We send conversions server-side through the TikTok Events API, which we built and run in-house alongside the same endpoints for Meta, X and LinkedIn, so the signal the algorithm learns from is the signal your business actually cares about.

Creative testing is the same discipline we use across paid social. On Podz, month-over-month registrations grew 107% off a structured creative test, with cost per result falling from $8.28 to $3.68. The case study states the scope of that number.

TikTok sits inside our paid advertising line and shares budget decisions with Google and Meta, so channels are compared on the same conversion definition rather than on each platform's own reporting.

How we run it

The loop, start to finish.

TikTok fatigues creative in days, not quarters. The loop keeps new hooks arriving and retires the ones that stop paying.

STEP 01

Hook batch

A weekly set of new openings, each built to stop the scroll in the first second, briefed from what last week's winners had in common.

STEP 02

Fixed read window

Every variant gets the same spend and the same number of days before anyone judges it, so a lucky first afternoon cannot buy a bad ad another week.

STEP 03

Scale or retire

Winners get budget by a written rule. Losers are retired the same day. Nobody argues for a favourite.

STEP 04

Server-side read

Results come from the Events API feed and your revenue data, not from TikTok's dashboard alone, so the winner is the ad that sold, not the ad that clicked.

Why it compounds

Every week teaches the next batch.

Learning

Winners have a pattern

After a month of reads you know which hooks, formats and offers work for your buyer. The next batch starts from that, not from a blank brief.

Signal

The algorithm learns on revenue

Server-side events give TikTok the outcomes the browser drops, so its optimization pulls toward buyers instead of clickers.

Cost

Waste leaves fast

A fixed window and a retire rule mean a dead creative costs one read, not a quarter of drift.

What's included

Done for you.

Creative testing loop

A weekly batch of hooks against a fixed read window, with a written rule for what scales and what retires.

Server-side events

Conversions sent through the TikTok Events API, so the algorithm learns from events the browser drops.

Cross-channel calls

TikTok judged against Google and Meta on one conversion definition, not on each platform's own reporting.

FAQ

TikTok Ads, answered.

How much creative does TikTok need?

More than any other channel, and that is the honest answer. TikTok fatigues creative faster than Meta or Google, so we plan for a weekly batch of variants rather than a quarterly shoot. The account structure is the cheap part; the creative pipeline is the work.

Why does TikTok's reported ROAS disagree with my analytics?

Two reasons, and both are fixable. TikTok attributes on its own window, and browser-side tracking loses events to blockers and iOS restrictions. We send conversions server-side through the Events API and compare channels on one shared conversion definition, so the disagreement becomes explainable instead of mysterious.

Do you make the creative or just run the media?

Both are available. We can run media against creative you produce, or produce it with you. What we will not do is run a TikTok account with no creative supply, because that guarantees the account plateaus.

What does TikTok management cost?

Paid advertising starts at $5K per month with a typical range of $5K to $12K, published on our pricing page. Ad spend is billed separately by the platform.
