An AI agent is software that uses a language model to pursue a goal through multiple steps and tools: reading systems, making bounded decisions, and taking actions, rather than answering a single prompt. In business use, the practical rule is that if a process recurs, has rules, and leaves a trail, an agent can be programmed to run it.

An intake agent reads each inbound lead, enriches it, scores it against written rules, drafts the reply, and books qualified calls. A person approves anything unusual. The judgment stays human; the fifteen mechanical minutes per lead disappear.
